- Instruct and develop curriculum for several secondary level art classes, including AP Art History, AP Studio Art, Introduction to Art, Art 2, Drawing, Darkroom Photography I & II, Digital Video, Digital Art, Sculpture, and Painting as well as several independent study courses.
- Proposed, designed and taught Digital Video, Sculpture, and Art 2.
- Proposed and developed Open Studio, an intensive after-school portfolio development program intended to compliment higher level classes.
- Arranged field trips to the National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, and Corcoran Gallery. Organized yearly trips to National Portfolio Day for advanced students.
- Displayed and coordinated shows of student work. Initiated, coordinated and participated in yearly group faculty art shows.
- Served as a mentor to incoming teachers.
- Designed, coordinated and led the Bullis Art Intensive Trip a two week study trip for students through Paris and Italy (2007, 2008, 2011)
- Established a partnership with Cleveland Institute of Art that awards two scholarships each year for their summer portfolio development institute to promising Bullis students.
- Taught general middle school art classes through 2009. Developed curriculum for year-long 8th grade class.
- Taught general lower school classes through 2001. Worked with classroom teachers to develop cross-curricular lessons.
- Served on several search committees, including upper school Principal
- Helped design and site the Blair Center of the Arts
Visual Art Chair (2011-2012)
- Developed scope and sequence of Visual Art curriculum grades 3-12 in collaboration with teachers and administrators.
- Served on Instructional Council, developing and structuring the school’s strategic plan for “Signature Programs,” blended learning, curriculum design and development.
- Served on subcommittee tasked with development of Entrepreneurship program.
- Secured funding for Visual Art department to attend NAEA conference in New York.
- Established chapter of National Art Honor Society.
- Advised redesign and refurbishment of studio spaces.
- Managed budget for Visual Arts.
- Led bi-weekly departmental meetings. Attended administrative meetings.
Technology Convener for Visual and Performing Arts Depts. (2010-2012)
- Collaborated with technology director to strategize implementation of technology initiatives within the two departments. Piloted learning management system, Haiku.
- Mentored colleagues in the practice and implementation of online learning management system. Worked to identify solutions for technology needs and challenges in the classroom. Attended 2010 AIMS Technology Retreat, focusing on PLCs, online learning, and learning management systems.
